In a devastating incident that occurred around 11.20 am on Monday morning, Gangaram Soma Pawar (62) lost his life, and two others, Sandeep Dombale (35) and Manohar Bandgar (50), sustained severe injuries as a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus suffered brake failure and collided with pedestrians on the Pune-Solapur highway near Bhigwan town in Pune district. The accident also resulted in significant damage to five motorcycles.

The tragic event unfolded on the service road of the highway, just in front of Morya Garage. The bus, which had departed from the Kalamb depot in Osmanabad en route to Pune, experienced brake failure.

According to police, the initial investigation suggests a brake failure, which led to the driver losing control of the vehicle and striking three individuals.

Regrettably, one person lost their life, and two others sustained injuries. Additionally, the bus collided with several parked motorcycles on the highway.

Following the incident, action has been taken against the bus driver, Ashok Salunkhe (42), a resident of Osmanabad, on charges of negligent homicide and reckless driving.

The victim who tragically lost their life has been identified as Gangaram Soma Pawar (62), while the injured individuals are Sandeep Dombale (35) and Manohar Bandgar (50).
