Pune, Oct 2 : Conditions continue to be favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from remaining areas of Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and west Uttar Pradesh; some more spots of west Madhya Pradesh; remaining parts of Rajasthan and some nooks of Gujarat in next two days, forecast India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.

The Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Jharkhand, Konkan, Goa, and active over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Kerala. It has been weaker over west Uttar Pradesh, east & west Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Saurashtra, Kutch, Telangana and Rayalaseema.

Rain or thundershowers had pummelled most places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Konkan, Goa, Kerala and Lakshadweep during past 24 hours. They had lashed many niches in coastal Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at a few divisions in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, interior north & south Karnataka during the period.

They had battered isolated sections in Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat Region, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema and Tamil Nadu during the period. Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch during the period.
