Instead of giving homework, teachers should teach the students at school. Field visits, visits to historical sites, forts, rivers, heritage sites and parks should be organized by the school. Governor Ramesh Bais appealed to the teachers to contribute to their overall progress through such activities. Bais’ statement has stirred discussions among educationists. A few days ago, Governor Bais advised the government to change the morning timings of children’s schools.

Bais was speaking at a teacher meet organized by Vedha Professional Learning Community on Sunday. Bais said, in many countries of the world, students are not given homework, we also need to adopt this policy. A group expands the student’s thinking, creating a sense of moving forward together. With increased participation in sports, they develop the ability to digest wins and losses easily.

On this occasion, Nand Kumar, Manager of ‘Mission MGNREGA’, Ranjitsinh Deol, Principal Secretary of School Education Department and Nilesh Ghuge, Coordinator of ‘Vedh’ were present. Rohini Pimpalkhedkar’s book ‘Vedh Kriti Anthila’ and ‘Spoken English Vedh Kriti’ and Kevra Sen’s book ‘Basic Japanese Language’ were released by Governor Bais.

Bais added that efforts should also be made to keep children away from mobile and electronic devices. They need to be encouraged to ask questions so that they are curious about new things. The inclusion of technology in education should update the knowledge of the students and create confidence in them.
