HDFC Bank has issued a notice to its customers, cautioning them about potential disruptions in National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) transactions on April 1, 2024. The bank attributes this caution to the procedures associated with the financial year-end, which may lead to delays or unavailability of NEFT services. Customers intending to transfer money are advised to opt for alternative transaction methods such as Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), or Unified Payments Interface (UPI) on April 1, 2024.

In an email communication, HDFC Bank stated, “Please note, outward NEFT transactions may get delayed/may not be available on 1st April 2024 due to financial year-end procedures. We request you to please complete your transaction using IMPS, RTGS, or UPI during this period. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.”

Additionally, customers planning to visit bank branches on April 1, 2024, should be aware that banks in many states might remain closed due to the closing of their year accounts, as per RBI guidelines. While banks will be operational in states like Mizoram, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya, customers are advised to check the list of bank holidays before visiting their bank branch.

For assistance regarding money transfers on April 1, 2024, customers can reach out to the bank’s customer support team at 18001600 /1800 2600.

Furthermore, the exchange and deposit of Rs 2000 notes will not be available at the 19 Issue Offices of the RBI on April 1, 2024, due to annual closing of accounts. This service will resume on April 2, 2024.
