Former MP’s Son Found Dead by Suicide in Pune’s Manchar: Investigation Underway
Pune: A 26-year-old man has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and abetment of suicide charges for allegedly abusing and harassing a 15-year-old boy, ultimately leading to his tragic death.
The incident came to light after the boy’s father lodged a complaint at Sahakar Nagar Police Station. The accused, identified as Sanket Rajesh Mohile (26), a resident of Bhavani Peth and Mohan Nagar, Dhankawadi, has been booked for the offenses.
According to police reports, the crime occurred over a span of time from November 2023 to November 2024, in the Taljai Tekdi area of Pune.
Approximately a year ago, the accused, who was known to the boy, lured him to Taljai Hill, where the boy was subjected to physical and sexual abuse. The accused also recorded obscene acts on his mobile phone and later used these to blackmail the victim. Over time, the accused intensified his harassment, threatening the boy using multiple phone numbers.
Unable to bear the ongoing intimidation, the boy died by suicide on November 15, 2024, by hanging himself at his residence.
Following a thorough investigation, the police confirmed that the accused’s sustained harassment and threats had driven the minor to take this extreme step. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
