Pune, July 4: The Maharashtra State Disaster Management Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Mumbai and several parts of Konkan from July 4 to July 6, warning of intense showers that could disrupt normal life.
According to the department’s forecast, Mumbai, Raigad, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are likely to receive heavy rainfall during the three-day period. Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rain is also expected in the ghat regions of Pune, Satara and Nashik.

Authorities have cautioned that the rainfall may lead to waterlogging, traffic congestion, delays in local transport and possible damage to infrastructure in some areas. With the risk of landslides increasing in ghat sections, citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, especially through hilly routes and low-lying areas, unless absolutely necessary.
The Disaster Management Department has also urged residents to follow monsoon safety guidelines, inspect electrical wiring and potential leakages in their homes, and remain alert during periods of intense rainfall.
