Heavy Rain Disrupts Traffic Across Pimpri Chinchwad; Several Roads, Underpasses And Bridges Closed Due To Flooding
Pimpri Chinchwad, July 6, 2026: Heavy rainfall has severely impacted traffic movement across Pimpri Chinchwad, with several roads, underpasses and bridges either submerged or closed due to waterlogging, according to the Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Department’s update issued at 12 noon.
In the Bhosari Traffic Division, waterlogging was reported at Banacha Odha, Mai Wadewale Chowk, and near Cloud Nine Hotel, resulting in slow-moving traffic.
In the Bavdhan Traffic Division, traffic was moving slowly due to water accumulation at Radha Chowk, Nanaware Underpass, and Bhugaon.
The Chakan Traffic Division has completely closed traffic at Waki Phata due to severe waterlogging.
In the Dighi–Alandi Traffic Division, traffic has been suspended after several bridges were submerged, including the Dabhade Sarkar Chowk Bridge, the old and new Indrayani River bridges, the Markal village bridge within Pune city limits, and the Siddhabet Bridge. Authorities have also prohibited the entry of all types of vehicles into the Alandi temple town.
The Wakad Traffic Division has completely closed the Tathawade Underpass and the River View Chowk Bridge at Thergaon, while traffic is moving slowly at the Punawale Underpass.
In the Sangvi Traffic Division, traffic has been stopped on the route from MM Chowk towards Chinchwad, at Sai Chowk, and on the Rahatani Bridge due to flooding.
The Nigdi Traffic Division reported the complete closure of River View Chowk, while waterlogging was also reported at Keshavnagar, Chinchwad, Rudra Parking, and Bhel Chowk near Geeta Vadapav, where the road has been closed as an open manhole poses a safety risk.
In the Pimpri Traffic Division, both the Vallabhnagar Underpass and Sai Chowk Underpass have been completely shut due to flooding.
The Hinjawadi Traffic Division has closed the road near the Shani Temple opposite Indira College and the Tathawade Underpass on the Hinjawadi side because of water accumulation. Traffic is moving slowly at the Surya Underpass and Sayaji Underpass.
The Mhalunge Traffic Division has closed traffic from Alandi Phata towards Alandi, while the culvert near KBM Company has collapsed, forcing authorities to suspend vehicular movement.
In the Chikhali Traffic Division, traffic has been stopped on the Hawaldar Vasti–Alandi Road, the road from Diamond Chowk towards Moi, and the Chikhali Arch to Chikhali Crematorium Road. Waterlogging has also been reported at Laxmi Chowk, Kudalwadi, Patil Nagar, and Jadhav Sarkar Chowk.
The Dehu Road Traffic Division has implemented traffic diversions at Central Chowk, while both service roads near the Shinde Petrol Pump are submerged.
In the Talegaon Traffic Division, waterlogging has been reported near Hotel Indrayani opposite Ghoradeshwar Temple, Hotel Thand Mamla, where rainwater has flowed down from nearby hills, and at Dev Phata on the Talegaon–Chakan Road. Municipal Council personnel are currently carrying out relief and clearance operations at the site.
The traffic department has advised motorists to avoid flooded stretches, follow official diversions, and exercise caution while travelling as heavy rainfall continues across the region.
