Heavy Rain Triggers Flooding in Rahatani; Shatrughan Kate Rushes to Help Stranded Citizens
Pimpri-Chinchwad, July 6: Heavy rainfall over the past few days has caused the water level of the Pavana River to rise sharply, leading to flood-like conditions in Rahatani. As floodwaters entered the historic Ram Temple, several people, including women, children, and senior citizens, became stranded inside the temple premises.
Upon receiving information about the incident, local corporator and BJP Pimpri-Chinchwad City President Shatrughan Kate immediately rushed to the spot to assess the situation.

After reviewing the flood conditions, Kate coordinated with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Emergency Disaster Management Team and the Fire Brigade to launch an immediate rescue operation. As the water level continued to rise, rescue teams used boats and safety equipment to evacuate those trapped inside the temple.
Under Kate’s supervision, all stranded citizens, including children, women, and elderly people, were safely shifted to secure locations. He also inspected nearby areas affected by waterlogging and instructed officials to take all necessary precautionary measures.

Appealing to residents, Kate urged people to avoid visiting riverbanks, follow the instructions issued by the administration, and immediately contact emergency authorities in case of any emergency.
Speaking at the site, Shatrughna Kate said that the administration is on high alert and closely monitoring the situation.
“The rising river level has caused flooding in low-lying areas. Our emergency teams are working at full capacity to ensure everyone’s safety. Citizens should remain calm, cooperate with the authorities, and stay in safe locations. We are available 24×7 to provide any necessary assistance,” he said.
Residents of Rahatani and those affected by the flooding expressed their gratitude to Kate, the rescue teams, and all officials involved in the timely evacuation and relief efforts.
