Data on passenger volumes for the nation’s airports for Fiscal Year 2022–2023 (April 2022 through March 2023) was recently made public by the Airports Authority of India.

·         Indira Gandhi International Airport (New Delhi)

The Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi is the busiest airport of India from April 2022 to March 2023 as it has a total passenger count of 6,53,27,833.

The distance between Delhi Airport, also known as Indira Gandhi International Airport, and the city center of Delhi is 10 miles (16 kilometers) away from the airport.

Three terminals make up the entire airport. Domestic operations are done on Terminals 1 and 2, and international operations are done on Terminal 3. Terminal 3 can accommodate 34 million passengers annually and has 5.4 million square feet of space. A 100-room transit hotel and 95 immigration counters are also located within the terminal.

·         Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (Mumbai)

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai is the 2nd busiest airport of India from April 2022 to March 2023 as it has a total passenger count of 4,39,30,298.

Bombay, the previous name of Mumbai, is where the airport’s International Air Transport Association code, BOM, originates. The 2017 Airports Council International World’s Best Airport title went to Mumbai Airport.
