Hinjawadi Traffic Congestion To Be Eased With Metro, Ring Road And Internal Roads: Shankar Jagtap
Chinchwad, November 6, 2024
The bustling Hinjawadi IT Park (Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park) in Pune continues to attract new companies, creating thousands of jobs for young professionals. However, the area faces major traffic issues. MahaYuti candidate Shankar Jagtap from Chinchwad emphasized that projects aimed at improving infrastructure in Hinjawadi are being propelled by the Modi government at the center and the MahaYuti government in the state.
Jagtap highlighted that the Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar Metro, recently approved and already under construction, will begin operations next year. This new Metro line will ease road congestion, benefiting the area’s IT workforce significantly. Additionally, he noted that the development of a ring road, improved internal roads, and a river improvement project offering water transport are set to comprehensively resolve Hinjawadi’s traffic challenges.
Addressing Opposition Claims
Ahead of elections, opposition parties have raised concerns about stagnation and unemployment in the IT Park, blaming a lack of new investment. Jagtap countered these claims, noting that major IT companies, including Microsoft, recently invested significantly in Hinjawadi, creating thousands of jobs.
Jagtap asserted that the MVA government’s previous inaction during their two-and-a-half-year tenure stalled the IT Park’s progress. He expressed confidence that IT professionals, discerning and well-informed, would not be misled by opposition propaganda and would support the MahaYuti government.
A Roadmap for Future Development
Jagtap assured that the MahaYuti government is in active discussions with IT companies and local industries to address any remaining issues in the area. He emphasized that the upcoming infrastructure projects would secure a better environment for Hinjawadi’s growing workforce, fostering continued growth in the IT sector.
