Hinjewadi police launches investigation into Rs 11.8 Lakh Fraud Case ; Victim Lured by Telegram App

Pune: A recent incident has surfaced involving a case of fraudulent activity, prompting the Hinjewadi police to take action. The victim was targeted through the Telegram app by an unknown individual. The offer presented involved a part-time opportunity in the international hotel business, with tasks ranging from booking and registration to sales. Additionally, the victim was enticed with promises of substantial returns on investment.

The victim, initially intrigued by the proposition, began transferring money as instructed to an account provided by a female suspect. The victim received commission promptly at the beginning establishing a level of trust in the accused after being presented with an enticing package via Telegram.

Confident in the arrangement, the victim continued making frequent financial transfers. However, as time passed and communication with the accused abruptly ceased, the victim began to realize the distressing truth – they had fallen victim to a scam, losing a total of Rs 11,84,181 in the process.

Responding swiftly to the unfortunate situation, the victim took immediate action by registering a First Information Report (FIR) at the Hinjewadi police station. The case has been filed under relevant sections 420 and 406 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In light of this incident, the Hinjewadi police have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the matter. As the authorities delve into the details of this fraudulent activity, efforts are underway to track down the individuals responsible for this deceptive scheme. With legal proceedings now in motion, the pursuit of justice is paramount in bringing the culprits to account for their actions.
