Pune: An ICMR study concluded that there was no connection between the COVID-19 vaccination and the sudden, unexplained deaths of 729 young adults who appeared healthy and were reported from all over the country between October 1, 2021, and March 31, 2023.

As per further information, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has hypothesized that these individuals, who were between the ages of 18 and 45, may have died as a result of lifestyle choices, a family history of unexpected deaths, or previous hospitalization due to COVID-19.

Nevertheless, the ICMR claims that it was inspired to begin the study by multiple anecdotal reports about abrupt, unexplained deaths among otherwise healthy adults in India that were allegedly connected to COVID-19 or the COVID-19 vaccination.

Records kept by 47 hospitals spread across 19 states and the United States of America listed 29,171 sudden deaths among people between the ages of 18 and 45 as possible cases. Nonetheless, the final list contained 729 cases of individuals who passed away within 24 hours of being admitted to the hospital or who passed away outside of the hospital within 24 hours of being observed to be in apparently good health.

The researchers then looked through the records that were available and spoke with family members to find out about their COVID-19 vaccination history, infection status, and lifestyle choices that might have anything to do with the unexpected, unexplained death. Four healthy controls or individuals in the same age group, gender, and area were chosen for each case.
