ICSRI organizes Coinex Pune 2023, a treasure trove of rare coins

Pune: International Collectors’ Society of Rare Items (ICSRI), Pune has organized a national exhibition ‘Coinex Pune 2023’.

The exhibition will be held from December 22 to December 24 2023 at Sonal Hall, Karve Road, Pune. This exhibition has been organized by the ICSRI, Pune for the last 27 years. This year is the 28th year of this exhibition.

As per further information, Pune residents will get to see a variety of rare and ancient coins such as Mughal, Nazrana, Maratha, Err etc in the exhibition. The exhibition is free of cost & will be open from 10 am to 7 pm.

Looking at the history of India, coins have been in circulation in India since about three thousand years ago. Coins of the past five hundred years will be seen in this exhibition. 40 frames will be installed in this exhibition in which Punekars will get to see such a rare collection.

Collectors from various places in India will participate in this exhibition. Also, on this occasion, Pune residents will get an opportunity to buy and sell rare coins in the exhibition. You will be able to learn about the available coins, their approximate value, their year, history, letters, pictures, and imprints from experts in numismatics. 24-hour security will be deployed for this very rare and grand exhibition.

The detailed itinerary of the program is as follows:

·         December 22 2023 (at 10 am) –

The program will be inaugurated by the chief guest Kishore Jhunjhunwala.

The following persons will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award:

  • Dr Abhijit Dandekar – Pune
  • Girish Jagashi Veera – Mumbai
  • Dr Prashant P Kulkarni – Nagpur
  • Subodh S Pethe – Thane

· December 22, 2023 (at 4 pm) –

Release of special cover to commemorate the 350th Coronation of Chhatrapati Shri Shivaji Maharaj by Chief Guest Chhatrapati Shivendraraje Bhosale (Satara) and the following members of the Maratha Sardar family:

  • Vikram Singh Patankar (Patan)
  • Pandurang Balkawade (Pune)
  • Satyasheel Raje Dabhade (Talegaon)
  • Vikram Singh Mohite (Pune)
  • Sunil Pawar (Mumbai)

Each cover has a gold-plated obverse and reverse replica of Shivaji Maharaj’s Hone coin and a special golden cancellation.

·December 23, 2023 –

From 11:30 am, Academic Lectures on Numismatic Subjects will be conducted & Oswal Auctions will be conducted after 3:00 pm.

·December 24, 2023 –

From 11:30 am, the Todywalla Auction will be conducted.
