Pune, December 9, 2024 – An illegal party hosted in the BDP (Biodiversity Park) zone of Bavdhan Hills near NDA campus has brought to light an appalling breakdown of law and order. The party, which blared music, lights and fire crackers at full volume until 6:30 AM, left residents outraged as their repeated complaints to Pune Police and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) went unanswered. 

The national security risks due to drones flying, Firecrackers, loud music and blatant disregard and lawlessness is just unheard of!!This brazen event not only violated environmental laws but also highlighted an apparent nexus between influential private parties and public officials. To make matters worse, the party featured several major artists, whose presence amplified the chaos and cemented its scale and audacity.The Pune Police claimed to have filed a complaint the following morning—a baffling move considering citizens had reported the violations in real-time throughout the night. The critical question remains: Why was the party not stopped immediately, why no action despite numerous complaints throughout the night?

Violation of Biodiversity Park (BDP) Regulations:The rave party occurred in a BDP zone, designated as a no-construction, eco-sensitive area. PMC officials were reportedly aware of illegal construction on the site but failed to intervene beforehand.

Inaction Despite Real-Time Complaints:Residents made multiple calls to Pune Police throughout the night. However, no action was taken to stop the illegal activities.The police’s delayed complaint, filed the next morning, raises serious concerns about their competence or complicity in the matter.

Presence of Prominent Artists:The party featured performances by major artists, whose participation indicates that this was a premeditated, large-scale event. The artists boasting with early morning posts just is sickening to the gut. The authorities’ failure to monitor or intervene in such a high-profile event in a restricted zone is deeply troubling.

High-Ranking Officials Allegedly Present: Witnesses accounts suggest that influential figures attended the event, further complicating the situation and pointing to possible corruption or collusion.

Total Disregard for Citizens: Songs like “Party hum karenge, kisi ke baap se nahi darenge” were played loudly, symbolizing the organizers’ contempt for the law and the residents’ grievances.

Demands for Accountability:This event is not just a breach of law but a direct assault on public trust and environmental protection. The residents demand:An independent investigation into the role of PMC officials and police personnel who were hand in gloves with this event.

The agitated residents and members of Bavdhan Citizens Forum also gave a written application to the Bavdhan Police Station Senior Police Inspector Anil Vibhute informing that such events should not happen in the area in future. Also strict action must be taken against the organisers for violating the norms and also harming the peace of the local residents. Over 100 residents were present at the Bavdhan Police Station who sought solution to the issue.

Answers from PMC and Pune Police: Why was the event allowed to continue despite real-time complaints?
