IMD Monsoon Forecast: Maharashtra to Face Heavy Rains in Next 48 Hours Due to Low Pressure in Arabian Sea

Weather Alert: Thunderstorms Expected in Maharashtra on June 5; Yellow Alert Issued for 26 Districts
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a dangerous weather warning for the next 48 hours, as a low-pressure zone has formed in the Arabian Sea, likely causing heavy rainfall across Maharashtra.
The intensity of rains, which had eased recently, has surged again over the past two to three days, and the state is expected to receive more rain.
A heavy rain alert has been announced for several districts, including Mumbai, Pune, Palghar, Thane, and Raigad. The IMD has advised caution, particularly in the Konkan region, where heavy rains are anticipated due to the low-pressure zone. Palghar, Raigad, and other coastal areas could see significant rainfall during this period.
In addition to the Konkan region, Vidarbha and Marathwada are also under heavy rain warnings. Districts such as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, Parbhani, Jalna, and Dharashiv in Marathwada, as well as Amravati, Akola, Buldhana and Yavatmal in Vidarbha, are likely to experience downpours.
This forecast comes as a crucial concern for farmers, who might face significant setbacks due to the renewed heavy rains. The next 48 hours will be critical in terms of agricultural impact and overall preparedness in the state.
