Ranveer Allahbadia’s inappropriate joke on Samay Raina’s show, ‘India’s Got Latent,’ has sparked major controversy, resulting in police complaints against 30 people. In light of this, Samay took to Instagram to announce that he has deleted all videos from the show.
In his post, he expressed, “Everything happening has been overwhelming for me. I’ve removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My main goal was to bring laughter and joy. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their investigations are fair. Thank you.”
Ranveer Allahbadia, who has over 16 million followers on social media, got into hot water after clips of his comments about parents and sex from the latest episode went viral, leading to calls for action. In response to the backlash, he attempted to calm things down by posting a video apology, referring to his comment as a “lapse in judgment” and admitting that “comedy is not his forte.”
The controversy has sparked a huge debate about freedom of speech and what is considered decent behavior.
Meanwhile, police sources mentioned that Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani clarified that ‘India’s Got Latent’ is not scripted. They explained that both the panellists and contestants are encouraged to speak freely and naturally during the show. They also informed the police that judges do not receive payment for their participation but are allowed to share content from the show on social media. Contestants are required to buy tickets to be part of the show, and the proceeds from ticket sales go to the winner.
In an exclusive interview with CNN-News18, Rakhi Sawant claimed she was paid to appear on ‘India’s Got Latent.’ Despite this, she expressed her support for Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina during the ongoing controversy.
The whole issue began when podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made an inappropriate joke about “parental s*x” on Samay Raina’s show. In a viral clip, he asked a contestant a highly offensive question, leading to widespread outrage and criticism for being vulgar.
