Ind vs Eng: Wakad Police bursts betting racket; seize electronic gadgets worth Rs. 45 lakhs
After being tipped off from the sources, yesterday afternoon on Friday 26 March, the Wakad Police under the leadership of SPI Vivek Mugalikar and IPS Krishna Prakash, conducted a raid at Lemon Tree Hotel, Wakad and Ghoradeshwar, which bursted the betting racket on Ind v/s England ODI match that was held on 26 March at Gahunje Stadium.
The massive racket busted by the Wakad Police station has been able to seize gadgets worth ₹ 45 lakh.
According to our conversation with SPI Vivek Mugalikar, the raid was able the seize 74 smartphones, 4 telescopes, 1 tab, and 3 laptops. The additional information suggest that the team was operating from Lemon Tree hotel and Ghoradeshwar hill.
SPI Mugalikar, while talking to Pune Pulse said, “The raid was successful and we are now searching for their operator as these were just middlemen. The main operators are from Nagpur and Bhopal, whom we are tracing. Our eyes and ears are wide open. No such anti-social elements will be tolerated.”
