India Post has officially rolled out IT 2.0 – Advanced Postal Technology (APT), marking a major step in its modernisation journey and aligning with the Government of India’s Digital India and Make in India initiatives. The launch was carried out under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guidance of Union Minister of Communications and DoNER, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia.

APT is a microservices-based digital platform designed to deliver faster, more reliable, and citizen-centric postal and financial services across India’s network of 1.65 lakh post offices. Developed by the Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology (CEPT), the platform is hosted on the Government of India’s MeghRaj 2.0 cloud and supported by BSNL’s nationwide connectivity.

Union Minister Scindia said, “APT will transform India Post into a world-class public logistics organisation. This is Aatmanirbhar Bharat in action, driving a stronger, self-reliant Digital India.”

To ensure smooth adoption, India Post trained 4.6 lakh employees through a cascade model involving master trainers, user champions, and end-users under the principle of “Train – Retrain – Refresh”.
