India Wins Kho-Kho World Cup Under Captain Priyanka Ingle’s Leadership

Priyanka Ingle, a former student of Shri Sayajinath Maharaj Vidyalaya in Wadmukhwadi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, has led the Indian women’s kho-kho team to win the Kho-Kho World Cup. Under her captaincy, India defeated Nepal by 38 points to clinch the title.  

Priyanka, an alumna of Indrayani College in Talegaon, received praise from former MLA Krishnarao Bhegde, Indrayani Vidya Mandir Chairperson Ramdas Appa Kakde, Principal Dr. Sambhaji Malghe, and staff and students of her alma maters.  

Originally from Beed district, Priyanka grew up in Wadmukhwadi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and completed her primary education at Shri Sayajinath Maharaj Vidyalaya. It was here that she began her kho-kho journey. She has represented Maharashtra at the national level at the age of 12, playing her first national tournament while in Class 7.  

In her 15-year career, Priyanka has participated in 23 national tournaments. She won a gold medal at the 2023 Asian Kho-Kho Championship and received the Rani Laxmibai Award in 2022 for her achievements at the national level. Priyanka’s success has brought immense pride to Talegaon and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The local community is celebrating her accomplishment, with widespread appreciation for her leadership and achievements.
