On a routine flight from Pune to Delhi on January 12, IndiGo cabin crew member displayed exceptional courage and compassion by reviving an elderly passenger who had fallen unconscious mid-flight. The incident, shared by Delhi entrepreneur Sanchit Mahajan in a LinkedIn post, highlights the crew member’s quick thinking and selflessness during an emergency.

Mahajan, co-founder of Spotlight Scouts & Orion Hostels, described how the elderly passenger, believed to be in his 70s, began losing consciousness during the flight. With no medical professionals onboard, the unnamed crew member immediately took charge. She provided oxygen, supported the passenger’s neck, and worked tirelessly for 30 to 40 minutes to stabilise him. Her dedication ultimately resulted in the passenger regaining consciousness.

The emotional toll on the crew member was evident, as Mahajan observed her in tears, likely overwhelmed by the gravity of the situation. Despite her heroic actions, Mahajan noted that many passengers did not fully acknowledge the crew’s efforts.

Before deboarding, Mahajan personally thanked the crew member, praising her as a “true hero” and urging IndiGo to officially recognise her exceptional efforts.
