Kriti Sanon on Actors Being Trolled for Calling Themselves ‘Middle-Class’: ‘I Never Felt the Need…’
In a candid conversation with Nikhil Kamath, Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon opened up about her journey toward finding inner peace while balancing the demands of her film career. Known for her grounded and realistic approach, Kriti shared insights into her struggles with seeking validation, handling industry pressures, and maintaining a sense of personal fulfillment.
Kriti revealed that she often felt torn between choosing roles that promised box office success and those that resonated with her passion for acting. “There were times when I chose projects for their commercial appeal, but they didn’t always bring me joy on set,” she admitted. Reflecting on these experiences, Kriti emphasized the importance of aligning her work with her true interests, stating, “Peace, for me, is about doing what genuinely excites me, not what others expect of me.”
Addressing the topic of financial security, Kriti explained that, although she comes from a middle-class family, she never felt pressured to work solely for money. “I’ve never had to worry about finances because my parents provided for me. That freedom allowed me to make choices based on passion rather than necessity,” she explained.
Despite her success, Kriti remains humble and grounded, even maintaining a joint account with her father to manage her finances. “I’ve always been detached from my earnings, focusing more on the quality of my work than on financial gains,” she concluded, highlighting her commitment to staying true to her values in an industry often driven by external validation.
