District Collector of Pune Rajesh Deshmukh has given information about this. In order to increase the percentage of voting in urban areas, the voting process will be conducted in housing societies. With this decision, voters will not have to stand in queues for hours to vote. Residents of the housing society area will also have to go to vote in the society.

Interestingly, the Election Commission has directed to hold elections in societies in this way in big cities. There are a large number of housing societies in Mumbai, Mumbai suburbs, Pune, Raigad, Thane districts of the state. So, in these areas, voting will be held in societies at this time.

Voting for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be held in 36 housing societies in Pune. This decision has been taken to increase the voting percentage in urban areas. The voting process for the Lok Sabha will be held in nearly 150 societies in the state. The local district administration is planning as per the directions of the Election Commission.
