Starting April 21, all domestic flight operations at Chaudhary Charan Singh International (CCSI) Airport in Lucknow will be relocated to the newly constructed Terminal 3 (T3), marking a significant transition for airlines and passengers alike.

Presently, airlines such as Indigo Airlines, Air India, Vistara, Air India Express, Air Asia India, Fly Big, and Star Air operate their domestic flights from Terminal 2. However, in line with the airport’s phased plan, these carriers will transfer their domestic operations to Terminal 3, joining Akasa Air, which shifted its operations on March 31.

A spokesperson for CCSI Airport announced the shift, emphasizing its alignment with the airport’s strategic plan. Terminal 3, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month, boasts a Phase 1 capacity of 80 lakh passengers per annum, with plans to expand to accommodate up to 1.3 crore passengers annually in Phase 2. Moreover, the terminal is expected to generate employment for over 13,000 individuals.

To facilitate the transition, departing domestic passengers will access Terminal 3 via the up ramp near Lakshman Chauraha, while pick-up vehicles will continue towards the arrival section of Terminal 3. The airport authorities are collaborating with airlines to ensure a seamless transition, providing passengers with timely information about the shift.

Furthermore, Lucknow Airport plans to deploy customer service associates and signage near strategic points to guide domestic passengers to Terminal 3, including the airport Metro station.

Terminal 3 is equipped with several advanced features, including Digi Yatra, ample check-in counters, self-service kiosks, self-baggage drop, automated tray retrieval systems, and advanced baggage screening machines. Additionally, the newly constructed apron will expand the number of passenger boarding gates from 7 to 13 and passenger boarding bridges from 2 to 7, enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers.
