Maharashtra ATS Arrests 9 Bangladeshi Nationals for Illegal Immigration, Aadhaar Fraud
The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has detained nine Bangladeshi individuals for unlawfully entering India and residing in the country without the necessary documentation, according to officials. This brings the total number of Bangladeshi nationals arrested to 43 across 19 cases last month as part of a targeted operation, an official reported on Tuesday. The recent arrests were made in collaboration with local police in Mumbai, Nashik, Nanded, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar over the past four days.
Among those arrested are nine Bangladeshi individuals, consisting of eight men and one woman. The official mentioned that the suspects obtained Aadhaar cards by using forged documents. Police have filed five cases against them under the Foreigners Act and other relevant laws, the official added.
