Pune, May 13, 2025: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced several major decisions taken in today’s Maharashtra Cabinet meeting via his official handle on X. The government has approved impactful measures focused on social welfare, infrastructure, and industry promotion.

In a significant step towards child welfare, the state has approved a Mobile Unit Scheme for the rehabilitation of street children. Under the first phase, 31 mobile vans will operate across 29 municipal corporation areas, with a financial sanction of Rs 8 crore. This initiative falls under the Women and Child Development Department.

To ease the burden on project-affected citizens, the Revenue Department has reduced stamp duty to just Rs 1,000 for rental agreements of houses allotted under the “Home Sweet Home” scheme in the Nagpur Smart City project.

In a push towards sustainable development, the Cabinet has approved a policy for artificial sand (M-sand) production. Each district will support up to 50 individuals or institutions in setting up M-sand units. The government will offer a Rs 200 per brass subsidy, aiming to reduce environmental damage caused by riverbed sand mining.

The Cabinet also accepted the report of the State Pay Discrepancy Redressal Committee, with the government agreeing to bear an additional Rs 80 crore burden, as announced by the Finance Department.

Further, the government has greenlit a policy to modernize government ITIs through public-private partnerships. This aims to transform ITIs into world-class training centers, enhance employment opportunities, and improve practical and applied learning through industry collaboration.

Finally, 20.33 hectares of reserved land in Chincholi (Taluka Kamthi), Nagpur district, will be allotted for the National Forensic Science University’s Maharashtra sub-centre.

These cabinet decisions reflect the state’s commitment to inclusive growth, social equity, and technological advancement.
