Maharashtra Road Tragedy: 4 Dead, 15 Injured in Collision Between Container Truck and ST Bus Near Tarane Village

In a tragic accident on Wednesday afternoon, four people were killed and fifteen others injured when a container truck crashed into a state transport (ST) bus near Tarane village on the Indapur-Murud highway. The collision occurred at approximately 12:45 PM, leaving the local community in shock.
The ST bus (MH20BL3914), traveling from Rahtad to Tala with 45 passengers, was hit by a 10-wheeler container trailer (NL01AF9849) descending a steep slope from Agardanda. The truck, reportedly out of control, struck the right side of the bus with significant force before overturning.
The deceased have been identified as Trupti Vijay Kutekar (22), Laxman Raya Dhebe (34) from Dhangarwadi, Anvi Rupesh Gamre (7) from Ambet, and Vitthal Kajbaje (55) from Khabivali. All were either declared dead on the spot or succumbed to injuries shortly after the incident.
Among the 15 injured are Kashinath Dhebe (52), Savita Shantaram Gaikwad (45), Yashwant Narayan Ramane (77), and several others ranging in age from 10 to 77 years. Emergency services responded quickly, with the injured taken to Mangaon Sub-District Hospital and the deceased to Tala Rural Hospital.
The truck driver, Dindayal Ramkaran Pal (21) from Bihar, has been arrested. Police revealed that Pal was inexperienced and had only recently obtained his heavy vehicle driving license. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkaraj Suryawanshi, Pal was unfamiliar with the area and relied on Google Maps, misjudging a sharp descent and curve that led to the crash.
A case has been filed based on a complaint from the bus conductor, and an investigation is ongoing to determine further responsibility in the incident.
