Man arrested for entering airport with fake flight ticket
Man used fake ticket to assist female relatives at Mumbai airport, arrested by CISF.
A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly entering Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) using a fake flight ticket to ensure his two female relatives had a smooth check-in for their flight to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Monday evening when CISF officer noticed the man exiting the airport. Upon questioning, the man claimed he had entered through gate number 6 and was traveling with friends departing from Terminal 1/B, intending to cancel his Mumbai-Nagpur flight ticket from Terminal 2.
The accused, identified as Usama Mohammad Anwar Momin, 30, a resident of Bhiwandi, was found with a fake airplane ticket (AI-629). CISF officials, doubting the ticket’s validity, took him to the airline counter. There it was confirmed that no details of the said passenger existed in the airline’s system. The ticket was verified to be forged or fake.
During further questioning, Momin admitted he had come to drop off his two female relatives who were traveling to Jeddah and wanted to assist them with their check-in process. Following this confession, CISF authorities handed him over to the Sahar police for further investigation.
