Mumbai, July 31: To boost state revenue and employment, the role of industries is crucial. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has instructed to urgently submit detailed proposals for setting up new MIDCs in various districts including Desaiganj in Gadchiroli, Lingdev, Akole in Ahmednagar, Kalwan-Surgana, and Jambutke in Nashik, as well as in Varud in Amravati. He emphasized that at least 100 acres of land is required for establishing each MIDC.

Furthermore, Pawar stated that the state government is supportive of setting up a Food Processing Park in Dumberwadi, Pune district, through various schemes of both the state and central governments.

A review meeting on the MIDCs was held under the chairmanship of Finance and Planning Minister Ajit Pawar in his committee room at the Ministry. The meeting was attended by Industry Minister Uday Samant, Food and Drug Administration Minister Dharmaravbaba Atram, MLAs Kiran Lahamte, Devendra Bhuyar, Dilip Mohite-Patil, Atul Benke (via video), Nitin Pawar (via video), Additional Chief Secretary of the Planning Department Rajgopal Deora, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department O.P. Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department Rajesh Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Finance Department Saurabh Vijay, and MIDC CEO Dr. Vipin Sharma, along with district collectors and divisional commissioners from relevant districts via video.

Ajit Pawar emphasized that the industrial sector plays a vital role in the state’s development. The government aims to promote industries to boost state revenue and employment. Efforts are being made to integrate all districts into the mainstream of development. He was instructed to submit detailed proposals for MIDCs in Desaiganj (Wadsa) in Gadchiroli, Lingdev and Akole in Ahmednagar, Kalwan-Surgana and Jambutke in Nashik, and Warud in Amravati. For setting up an MIDC, a minimum of 100 acres of land is necessary. Only with 100 acres of land can a fully equipped MIDC be established. Therefore, from now on, a minimum of 100 acres of land must be available for approval of MIDCs.

The state government is positive about establishing a Food Processing Park in Dumberwadi, Pune district, through various schemes of the central and state governments. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has instructed the district collector to inspect the land with local MLAs. Additionally, discussions were held regarding pending work in the Baramati MIDC and issues concerning farmers in the Chakan MIDC.
