Pune is set to become a global business meeting point early next year as the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) gears up to host the seventh edition of the Pune International Business Summit (PIBS) 2026. The two-day event will be held on February 9 and 10 and is expected to draw strong participation from India and abroad.

According to MCCIA, the summit will welcome representatives from more than 32 countries. Over 60 international delegates and upwards of 50 industry experts and policymakers are scheduled to take part, making the event one of the region’s most significant platforms for international trade and investment dialogue.

Key government officials attending the summit include Rajneesh, Development Commissioner for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), and P. Velrasu, Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). Their presence is expected to add strategic depth to discussions around industrial growth, policy support, and global collaboration.

The agenda for PIBS 2026 will span a wide range of high-growth and future-focused sectors. Sessions will explore opportunities and challenges in defence manufacturing, the automotive industry, global capability centres (GCCs), artificial intelligence, agriculture, and food processing, reflecting both Maharashtra’s industrial strengths and emerging global trends.

A major highlight of the summit will be a reverse buyer-seller meet organised under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme, which is funded by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Through this initiative, MCCIA has facilitated structured business-to-business meetings between MSME exporters from Maharashtra and over 25 international buyers representing 10 different countries.

This focused engagement is designed to give small and medium enterprises direct exposure to global markets. By connecting MSMEs with overseas buyers, the initiative aims to generate export orders, encourage long-term international business relationships, and strengthen the global competitiveness of Indian exporters.

With its blend of policy dialogue, sector-specific discussions, and practical business networking, the Pune International Business Summit 2026 is expected to play a meaningful role in promoting international trade, attracting investment, and positioning Pune and Maharashtra as key hubs in the global business landscape.
