‘MES SUBODHWANI’ -A first of its kind web radio launched by a school in Maharashtra

Maharashtra Education Society’s Sau. Vimalabai Garware School & Vidnyan Bharati jointly launched ‘MES Subodhwani’, a web radio on the occasion of Republic Day, 26 January 2021. It is the first web radio, started by a school in Maharashtra. It was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Air Marshal (Rtd) Bhushan Gokhale. 

This information was given by Anandi Patil, president of the School committee of MES. Sudhir Gade, Deputy Secretary, Maharashtra Education Society, Vilas Rabde, R. V. Kulkarni of Vidnyan Bharati were present at the press conference.

MES Subodhwani will enable students to interact with the prevailing teaching methods by combining creativity and entrepreneurship. With the help of web radio technology, this radio station will be broadcasted worldwide and thousands of listeners will be able to listen to its programs simultaneously through the internet. It is available on android phone and for that we have taken server on rent from Australia based company, informed Anandi Patil. Vidnyan Bharati has given tremendous support to this initiative, she mentioned.

Sudhir Gade said that, various programs suitable for the holistic development of students will be presented on this radio station to make capable and self-reliant citizens of the future by eliminating the current ‘Ghoka and Oka’ i.e. recitation method of education. With this in view, a completely different type of program will be produced and broadcast in the advanced studio of Garware College. Initially, thrice in a week one hour program will be broadcasted. After six month will take review and do expansion. Pilot episodes are broadcasted currently.

The content broadcasted through this Subodhwani radio will be useful for the student of 5 to 10 standard. Inspiring, creative and ingenious thoughts content will be the feature of this radio. We will focus on giving the academic and scientific content as well, Vilas Rabade mentioned.
