Pimpri Chinchwad Police appoints a visually challenged as a one day commissioner and single mother as Additional CP

Pimpri Chinchwad Police has been setting up benchmarks ever since the arrival of IPS Krishna Prakash as a commissioner of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police. The social experiments of the department, too, have been talks of the town. In its recent experiment, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police appointed visually challenged, Reena Patil, a commissioner for the day, while Jyoti Mane, a single mother working as a Gym trainer, was appointed as an Additional Commissioner of Police. Diwyanshu Tamchikar, a student coming from a weaker section having achieved major success against all the odds, was appointed as Deputy commissioner of Police.

This event was orgnised to create build a bond with all the sections of the society. This special gesture suggested by IPS Krishna Prakash was also meant to educate the weaker sections of the society about the Police department, law and order and the constitutional values. In fact, the IPS even received the three of them arriving from the Police car.

IPS Krishna Prakash on this initiative said, “Every section of the society must understand their rights, and accordingly, put their contribution for the development of the society. The country runs because of constitution abiding citizens. This special gesture suggests that we are standing with all the sections of the society.”

Guest of the event, Reena Patil opined: “Never even in my I dreams I thought that I would be entitled for such a special gesture. Being blind, we have just heard about what and how are Policemen, but for the first time I realised that the Police men are normal citizens like us, who work round the clock for the society.”

Jyoti Mane, who works as a Gym trainer after her husband’s demise, said, “After the death of my husband, I faced too many hurdles while raising my child. Only the Police department supported me during my crisis. This special honour has only embolden my power.”

Divyanshu Tamchikar, a student from slum area, who shined against the odds, suggested that he would one day become a law abiding citizen and inspires to become a Police officer like IPS Krishna Prakash.”
