Pune, Dec 27, 2024: The Pune Regional Division of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has achieved a significant milestone in its eco-friendly ‘Go-Green’ initiative. Over 2 lakh electricity consumers in the region have opted to stop using printed electricity bills, choosing instead to receive bills via email and SMS.

With 2,113 consumers across Pune, Satara, Solapur, Sangli, and Kolhapur districts participating, the initiative is helping save ₹2.4 crore annually for these users. Statewide, over 5 lakh consumers have joined, with the Pune region alone contributing 40% of the total.

Under the scheme, customers opting for digital bills save ₹10 per bill per month, amounting to ₹120 annually. Pune Regional Director Bhujang Khandare praised the overwhelming response, urging more consumers to adopt this eco-friendly approach.

Consumers can view their current and past bills, as well as payment receipts, on MSEDCL’s app and website, ensuring easy access while promoting sustainability.
