In a heart-wrenching incident that has sent shockwaves through the Naigaon community, a four-year-old girl, Anvika Prajapati, lost her life after falling from the 12th floor of a residential building. The tragedy occurred while she was preparing to leave her relative’s flat with her mother.

The incident took place on Monday evening at approximately 8:30 PM at the Navkar City residential complex, located in Naigaon East, Vasai. Anvika and her mother were visiting a relative’s home on the 12th floor of the same building where they lived. As they were getting ready to leave, the mother, while managing her belongings and footwear, momentarily seated Anvika on top of a shoe cupboard placed near a window and a duct opening.

CCTV footage from the premises captured the final moments leading up to the tragedy. The video shows Anvika stepping out of the house and playfully slipping into an adult’s footwear. As her mother locks the door behind them, she notices Anvika walking near the entrance. To keep her safe and out of the way, the mother lifts Anvika and places her on top of a shoe rack.

While the mother bends down to wear her slippers and collect Anvika’s sandals, the child is seen on camera attempting to climb from the cupboard onto the windowsill. Before she could gain her balance, Anvika tragically slipped and fell through the open window, plummeting to the ground below.

An officer involved in the case stated, “She was sitting on the shoe rack while her mother was getting her ready to leave.
