Mumbai: 6-year-old boy tragically killed as SUV crashes onto the hood of his car

A six-year-old boy tragically lost his life in an unusual accident in the Vashi area of Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, when an SUV collided with a road median, causing its rear section to land on the hood of the car he was in. This incident occurred late on Saturday night, as per reports. The deceased has been identified as Harsh Arethia.

“The SUV struck a road median, causing its rear to lift about 7 feet into the air before it fell onto the hood of the car where Harsh Arethia was travelling with his father and cousins,” an officer explained.

A case of causing death by negligence and reckless driving has been filed against the SUV driver, identified as Vinod Pachade, who lives in Ghansoli, according to API Dipak Gavit from the Vashi police station.

In another tragic incident in Pune, Maharashtra, a truck struck individuals sleeping on a footpath, resulting in the deaths of two toddlers and a man, while injuring six others. The accident occurred around 12:55 am in the Wagholi area, where many people were resting. The victims were laborers and their families who had recently arrived from Amravati in search of work. The truck driver, Gajanan Totre, 26, was arrested, and a medical test was conducted to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol at the time. According to police, the driver lost control of the vehicle near the Wagholi police station, leading to this tragic event. The deceased have been identified as one-year-old Vaibhavi Pawar, two-year-old Vaibhav Pawar, and 22-year-old Vishal Pawar. 

The six individuals who were injured—Janki Pawar (21), Rinisha Pawar (18), Roshan Bhosale (9), Nagesh Pawar (27), Darshan Vairal (18), and Aalisha Pawar (47)—were taken to Sassoon General Hospital for treatment, as reported.
