Mumbai woke up to heavy rain on Friday, with many parts of the city receiving continuous downpour. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane, warning of more intense showers through the day.

Meanwhile, Raigad and Ratnagiri have been placed under a red alert, which means people in those areas need to take action and stay safe due to the risk of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. Ghat areas in Satara and Pune are also under red alert.

Palghar is under a yellow alert, indicating moderate rain, but caution is still advised.

Key areas in Mumbai like CSMT, Byculla, Kurla, and Mulund saw very heavy rain early Friday, causing waterlogging in some places. Officials are asking people to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary and to keep checking updates on traffic and local trains.

  • Maximum temperature: around 30°C
  • Minimum temperature: around 23°C
  • Winds: Coastal breeze at 20–30 km/h, with stronger gusts expected
  • High tide alert: A tidal wave of 4.5 meters is expected later in the day, which may cause severe waterlogging in low-lying areas.

Other States:

  • In Delhi, IMD has predicted rain with thunderstorms on Friday.
  • In Jharkhand, heavy rain is expected on Friday and Saturday. An orange alert has been issued for 3 districts, and a yellow alert for 17 districts.

Residents are advised to stay alert, avoid waterlogged areas, and follow safety instructions.
