In a significant move toward promoting clean energy, ”The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) and City Gas Distribution entities are gearing up for a nationwide campaign from January 26 to March 31, 2024.” The initiative aims to encourage households to adopt Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and expand the consumer base across diverse segments of the population.

The focus of the campaign will be on areas where gas pipeline networks are either already in place or scheduled for the near future. The promotion of natural gas aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision to elevate its share in India’s energy mix to 15% by 2030, ushering in a transformative shift towards a “Gas-Based Economy.”
