National Lok Adalat In Pune: Settle Traffic Fines with Concessions From Sept 10–13
Pune, September 9, 2025: The District Legal Services Authority, Pune, in association with the Pune Traffic Department and Pune Police, is organizing a National Lok Adalat from September 10 to September 13, 2025.The special drive will run daily from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Traffic Branch Office, Bungalow No. 6, next to Yerwada Post Office, Pune.
Citizens will have the opportunity to clear their pending traffic fines with maximum concessions during the National Lok Adalat scheduled from Wednesday to Saturday. The drive will cover minor traffic violations such as riding without a helmet, driving without a seatbelt, signal jumping, or operating a vehicle without a number plate.

During this Lok Adalat, citizens will be able to settle pending traffic challans through compromise settlements with maximum concessions on fines.
As per the directions of the Bombay High Court, all courts in Pune will observe the National Lok Adalat on September 13. Against this backdrop, Principal District Judge and Chairman of the Pune District Legal Services Authority Mahendra Mahajan, Secretary Judge Sonal Patil, Motor Vehicle Court Judge S.B. Patil, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, and Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police Himmat Jadhav have taken the lead in launching this initiative. Pending e-challan cases related to traffic violations will be resolved through compromise settlements.
Traffic violations eligible for concessions include:
Riding a two-wheeler without a helmet
Driving a four-wheeler without a seatbelt
Signal jumping
Over-speeding
Wrong parking
Using a mobile phone while driving
Driving without a license or PUC certificate
Absence of fitness certificate
Wrong-lane driving
Driving without a number plate
Serious offences not eligible for concessions:
Drunk driving
Hit-and-run case
Causing fatal accidents due to reckless driving
Underage driving
Unauthorized racing
Using vehicles for criminal activities
Cases pending in court hearings
Challans issued in other states
Speaking about the initiative, Judge Mahendra Mahajan, Principal District Judge, Pune, said, “Citizens will be able to easily clear their pending traffic challans legally and become free of dues. We urge maximum participation from the public.”
Judge Sonal Patil, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, added “This Lok Adalat will not only help citizens settle challans with maximum concession but also spread awareness about traffic discipline.”
