A brazen daylight robbery in Kharghar sees three masked men looting a jewellery shop, firing multiple rounds, and escaping with ₹11 lakh worth of jewellery.
In a shocking daylight robbery, three masked men looted jewellery worth over ₹11 lakh from a shop in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, after opening fire multiple times. The dramatic heist, captured on the store’s CCTV cameras, has gone viral on social media. It showcases the masked men fleeing on a motorcycle as bystanders attempt to give chase.
The incident occurred when the three men, dressed in black and armed with revolvers, stormed into the jewellery shop. They threatened and assaulted the staff before making off with jewellery valued at ₹11.80 lakh. According to an official, “The assailants fired four to five rounds in the span of three minutes, although no injuries were reported.”
Upon receiving information about the robbery, Kharghar police swiftly arrived at the scene and commenced their investigation. The police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act for dacoity and other offences and efforts are currently underway to apprehend the culprits.
The CCTV footage, now circulating widely online, shows the men executing the heist and subsequently fleeing the crime scene on a motorcycle, with several people attempting to pursue them. The daring robbery has raised concerns among local residents and shopkeepers about the security and safety measures in place.
As the investigation continues, the police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward, hoping to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice and recover the stolen jewellery.
