NCP (Sharad Pawar) Leaders Stage Protest Against Rising Crime In Pune
Pune: The NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) staged a strong protest at the Pune District Collector’s office, condemning the deteriorating law and order situation in the city. Led by Prashant Sudamrao Jagtap, the protest saw the participation of several party leaders and workers, demanding urgent action against the rising crime rate.
Once known as the cultural capital of Maharashtra, Pune is now witnessing an alarming surge in crimes such as chain snatching, daylight shootings, gang violence, drug abuse, sexual offenses, and even murders over petty disputes. The recent Porsche car accident and the rise of the ‘Koyta Gang’ have further intensified concerns about safety. Protesters accused the state home department, led by Devendra Fadnavis,** of failing to control the escalating violence.
