Nikhil Kamath Invites Ranbir Kapoor to Experience Bengaluru: 'It's Very Different from Mumbai'
In a podcast conversation, Nikhil Kamath invites Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor to Bengaluru, sharing his deep connection with the city and contrasting it with Mumbai.
In a recent episode of his podcast, People by WTF, Nikhil Kamath extended an invitation to Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor to visit Bengaluru, emphasizing the unique charm and soul of the city compared to Mumbai.
During their conversation, Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, shared his personal journey and affection for Bengaluru. He recounted his early years, stating, “I was born in Shivamogga, Karnataka. My father worked at Canara Bank, which meant our family moved every three years. We lived in Hassan and later in Carnal, Haryana until I was about six years old. Then we moved to Bangalore and even though my dad was transferred to other places, we stayed in Bangalore with my mother, who had her family here.”
Kamath continued, “From the age of 7 till 37, for the last 30 years, I’ve been pretty much a Bangalore boy. I have immense love for the city, which has, in a way, given me everything. I think it’s a mutual affection; I showcase my love for the city and it continues to love me back.”
Expressing his fondness for Bengaluru, Kamath said, “I was telling you the other day, Ranbir, you should come to Bangalore and hang out. It’s very different from Mumbai—not in the way people typically say that Mumbai is fast-paced. Bangalore has a soul that is different from Mumbai’s and you have to be there to truly experience it.”
Kamath’s invitation and heartfelt description of Bengaluru highlight his deep connection to the city and his desire to share its unique essence with others, including Bollywood icons like Ranbir Kapoor.
