OnePlus is preparing to launch the OnePlus N6 in India on June 30, marking the debut of an entirely new smartphone lineup. The N series will become the company’s latest product category, expanding its portfolio beyond the flagship Number series and the mid-range Nord lineup.

The move comes as OnePlus looks to strengthen its presence in the affordable smartphone segment and attract a wider range of consumers.

Addressing the Budget Smartphone Market

In recent years, rising production and component costs have pushed smartphone prices higher across the industry. As a result, several devices that were once available under Rs 20,000 now fall into a higher price bracket.

For OnePlus, this shift has created a gap in its product range. While the Nord series continues to cater to mid-range buyers, the company currently has limited offerings in the highly competitive sub-Rs 20,000 category. The OnePlus N6 is expected to help bridge that gap and provide consumers with a more affordable option.

A Clearer Product Lineup

The introduction of the N series is also part of OnePlus’ broader strategy to simplify its smartphone portfolio. The flagship Number series will remain focused on premium users, while the Nord lineup will continue targeting the mid-range segment.

The N series, meanwhile, is expected to focus on value-conscious buyers looking for dependable performance, long battery life and essential features at an affordable price.

Designed for the Younger Generation

OnePlus has revealed that the N6 is aimed primarily at young consumers in the Rs 18,000 to Rs 25,000 segment. The company believes younger users rely heavily on smartphones for entertainment, gaming, learning, content creation and communication.

According to OnePlus, the letter “N” stands for “New”, “Neo” and “Never Off”, reflecting the device’s focus on reliability and all-day performance.

Key Features

Ahead of its launch, OnePlus has confirmed several details about the N6. The smartphone will feature a large 8,000mAh battery, which the company claims can deliver up to three days of use on a single charge. It will also support 45W fast charging and is expected to maintain battery health for several years.

The device is likely to feature a flat-frame design and could be offered in Black and Green colour variants. Reports suggest it may be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300-series chipset paired with at least 6GB RAM, making it suitable for everyday tasks, streaming and casual gaming.

Launch Details

The OnePlus N6 is scheduled for its global launch in India on June 30. Once launched, the smartphone will be available through online platforms as well as offline retail stores.

With the N6, OnePlus is aiming to strengthen its position in the affordable smartphone segment while offering a device tailored to the needs of young and budget-conscious buyers.
