New Delhi: In a major development under Operation Sindoor, India conducted precise airstrikes targeting nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. These strikes come nearly two weeks after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 civilian lives, including that of a Nepali national.

During a defence and foreign affairs briefing, the Indian government revealed that the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack intended to incite communal unrest and damage the region’s tourism sector.

According to the Indian Army, the strikes under Operation Sindoor were carefully calibrated to avoid escalating conflict, as no Pakistani military installations were targeted. The mission focused solely on destroying terrorist launchpads and infrastructure used by groups operating across the Line of Control (LoC).

Meanwhile, the Kashmir Valley, especially areas around Srinagar, has seen a spike in military movement and air traffic, indicating heightened operational preparedness and ongoing surveillance.
