Farhan Akhtar’s much-talked-about war drama 120 Bahadur finally makes its way to streaming platforms this week. The film, which released in theatres in November 2025, was appreciated for its strong performances and emotional depth, even though it didn’t translate into massive box-office success. Set against the backdrop of military conflict, the story highlights bravery, sacrifice and the unseen mental burden soldiers carry long after the battlefield. After initially being available only on rental, 120 Bahadur will stream free for Prime Video subscribers from January 16, giving it a chance to connect with a wider audience.

Kalamkaval – SonyLIV

For viewers drawn to unsettling and intense narratives, Kalamkaval promises a chilling experience. The Malayalam psychological thriller is reportedly inspired by the infamous Cyanide Mohan case and unfolds in the early 2000s. What begins as a seemingly minor incident slowly exposes a disturbing chain of crimes. Vinayakan stars as a sharp Special Branch officer, while Mammootty plays a composed investigator whose calm exterior hides a dangerous truth. The film delves into themes of manipulation, misplaced trust and how evil often hides in plain sight. Kalamkaval begins streaming on SonyLIV from January 16.

Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web – Netflix

Netflix adds a new crime drama to its catalogue with Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web. The seven-episode series features Emraan Hashmi as a disciplined customs officer heading a special task force at Mumbai International Airport. The plot follows a tense investigation into a sprawling international drug smuggling network that spans multiple countries. Instead of over-the-top action, the show focuses on psychological battles, ethical conflicts and the realities of law enforcement. Taskaree premieres on Netflix on January 16.

The Rip – Netflix

Hollywood fans can look forward to The Rip, a gritty action thriller bringing back the iconic pairing of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Set within the Miami Police Department, the film takes a sharp turn when officers uncover millions of dollars in unexplained cash during a raid. As suspicion spreads, alliances crumble and greed takes over, pushing partners against each other. Dark, intense and R-rated, The Rip lands on Netflix on January 16.

Mastiii 4 – ZEE5

Switching gears from crime to comedy, Mastiii 4 returns with Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani reprising their roles. This time, the trio takes their midlife frustrations and reckless choices to the UK. Known for its bold humour and double-meaning jokes, the franchise flips the script when the wives decide to mirror the men’s antics. The adult comedy sequel starts streaming on ZEE5 from January 16.

Bha Bha Ba – ZEE5

Rounding off the week is Bha Bha Ba, a Malayalam political satire starring Dileep, with Mohanlal appearing in a special cameo. The film had a controversial theatrical run before its release in December 2025 and is now set to reach a broader audience through OTT. Directed by debutant Dhananjay Shankar, the film blends satire with sharp political commentary. Bha Bha Ba begins streaming on ZEE5 on January 16.

Golden Globes 2026 – JioHotstar

Awards season content also finds a place on OTT this week. The 83rd Golden Globe Awards, celebrating the best films and American television shows of 2025, took place at the Beverly Hilton. The ceremony aired live on CBS and streamed on Paramount on January 11, 2026, with comedian Nikki Glaser returning as host for the second consecutive year. Indian viewers can now stream the full awards show on JioHotstar starting January 12.
