Outrage Over Animal Cruelty Incident as Pony Spotted Cramped in Autorickshaw in Navi Mumbai
In a shocking incident of animal cruelty, a pony was seen tightly squeezed into an autorickshaw in Navi Mumbai, causing a wave of outrage on social media. The video, shared by senior police inspector Sudhir Kudalkar of MHB police station, went viral on Thursday, October 10, drawing attention to the inhumane treatment of the animal.
The footage shows the poor pony standing inside the cramped three-wheeler, with its head sticking out from one side and its hindquarters from the other. The autorickshaw was reportedly speeding along the Sion-Panvel highway, posing a severe risk to both the animal and other motorists. The incident occurred between Nerul and Kharghar, as per initial reports.
The case was first highlighted by Yogesh Shinde, a veterinary ambulance operator, who witnessed the horrifying scene. “It’s the first time I saw a horse being carried in such a small vehicle. It is absolute animal” . He immediately reported the incident to the police and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Shinde, along with other animal rights activists, is calling for swift and strict action against those responsible.
The Inspector, who shared the video on Instagram, has appealed for help in identifying both the owner of the autorickshaw and the pony. The destination and purpose of the pony’s transportation remain unclear, adding to the concerns of animal lovers.
The video has sparked immense outrage online, with many expressing anger and demanding justice for the defenseless pony. Animal rights groups are expected to step in as the investigation continues. The incident has further highlighted the need for stricter laws and enforcement against animal cruelty in the country.
