Over 39 Lakh Electricity Consumers Register Their Mobile Numbers with Pune MSEDCL

In Pune district, a total of 39 lakh 4 thousand 446 (92.4 percent) electricity consumers such as household, commercial, industrial, agricultural and others have registered their mobile numbers with Mahavitaran along with customer number. All these customers are being given details of electricity supply, electricity bills and other various information through ‘SMS’.

Nishikant Raut, PRO, MSEDCL Pune, said “All kinds of information are being given to the electricity consumers through SMS from time to time if they register their mobile number.  Therefore, those who have not registered their mobile number with Mahavitaran should register their mobile number to avail this service.”

As per further information shared by Nishikant Raut, pre-scheduled maintenance and repairs to the mobile numbers registered by the electricity consumers from Mahavitaran, the probable period to be taken to restore the electricity supply in case of interruption of power supply due to technical or other reasons and the amount of electricity bills per month, appeal to customers to send meter reading by themselves, notice of disconnection of electricity supply, date of taking meter reading and total number of units consumed, electricity bill amount, payment date etc information is being sent through ‘SMS’.

However, 2 lakh 76 thousand 439 customers in Pune district have not registered their mobile numbers with Mahavitaran. So, they are deprived of the information they get through ‘SMS’. Electricity consumers who are living as tenants are requested to register their own mobile numbers.

Customers who have not yet registered their mobile number with their customer number can register their mobile number through ‘SMS’ to Mahavitaran number 9930399303. 

Electricity consumers can register their mobile number by typing MREG (space) (twelve digit customer number) from the mobile number to be registered and SMS to 9930399303.

Apart from this 24×7 call center number 1912 or 18002123435 or 18002333435 toll free number is available. Also, the facility of mobile number registration is available from the website www.mahadiscom.in or through the Mahavitaran mobile app.
