PCMC Removes Illegal Hoarding In Tathawade, Warns Against Unauthorised Advertisements
Pimpri Chinchwad, July 21, 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has intensified its drive against unauthorised advertising hoardings across the city, removing an illegally erected 40×30-foot billboard in Tathawade on Monday.
According to the civic body, under Sections 244 and 245 of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act and the Maharashtra Government’s Advertisement Regulation and Control Rules, 2022, prior permission from the municipal corporation is mandatory before erecting any advertising hoarding on private land.
PCMC officials stated that illegal hoardings not only spoil the city’s aesthetics but also result in revenue loss to the municipal corporation. As Pimpri Chinchwad continues its journey towards becoming a Smart City, the civic administration has stepped up efforts to curb unauthorised advertisements and preserve the city’s urban landscape.
During a recent inspection, the Sky Sign and Licensing Department found that M/s Advik Advertising had installed an unauthorised 40×30-foot advertising hoarding near Marigold Hospital, Jeevan Nagar, Tathawade, without obtaining the required permission from PCMC.
Acting under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner (Licensing) Rajesh Agale, Licensing Inspector Vinod Sarkania led the enforcement action on July 21, 2026, during which the entire hoarding, including its iron support structure, was dismantled and removed.
PCMC said the ongoing enforcement campaign aims to eliminate illegal hoardings, improve the city’s appearance, and safeguard municipal revenue generated through authorised advertising permissions.
The civic body has also issued a stern warning to all advertising agencies operating within the PCMC limits, stating that no unauthorised hoardings should be erected in the future. Any illegal advertising structures found during inspections will be removed immediately, and appropriate action will be initiated as per the applicable rules.
The municipal administration has urged advertisers to obtain the necessary permissions before installing hoardings and to comply with the provisions of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act and the Advertisement Regulation and Control Rules.
