Pune : Following an improvement in the Air Quality Index (AQI) levels, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Friday rescinded its decision to stop construction activities within its limits until November 19. It is worthy to note that the PCMC banned construction activities to stop the pollution levels from getting worse.
As per further information, the twin city’s major intersections and hotspots have been the subject of water fogging and sprinkler deployments over the past three days, according to municipal officials, to raise the standard of air quality.
Following the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), Shekhar Singh, PCMC Commissioner announced on Friday that the construction and processing ban has been lifted in response to an improvement in air quality. Guidelines to be adhered to at construction sites and other work sites have been issued by the civic body.
To ensure compliance, Singh said that the environment department’s targeted hotspot areas should continue to use water sprinklers and fogging techniques. Civic teams will keep a close eye out for infractions in their wards and take necessary action.
