After facing shortage of beds, remdesivir injections, ventilator beds and ICU beds, patients are fighting another important battle against the inflated hospital bills presented to Covid19 patients.

Several patients getting treated for Covid19 are now being financially harassed by several hospitals by giving them inflated bills. To resolve these issues, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has set up eight flying squads which will keep a tab on the bills issued by these hospitals to the patients.

Chief Accountant Amod Kumbhojkar has been appointed as the chief controller, Kishor Shinge who will work as accounts officer and Padmakar Kanitkar, Deepak Patil and Sanjay Kashid who will work in this squad. Each ward office will have a team consisting of a health officer, accounts officer, clerk and junior engineer who will closely monitor the billing at several hospitals.
