Pimple Saudagar : Kunal Icon society glorifies history of forts among youth

The Ganpati utsav since 2020 has been a low-key affair with major attractions and processions almost disappearing from the city since last two years, but the housing societies have still marked out a way to beam some light on the festival. Setting up a vibe to promote the culture and history of forts among the younger generation, Pimple Saudagar based Kunal Icon Society has set up a decoration of forts in Maharashtra.

The pictures of different forts are intended to create awareness among youth about the Maratha Kingdom through an eco-friendly manner.

Vinod Surve, while informing Pune Pulse about the decoration said, “Every year we desperately wait for Ganesh Festival. Kunal Icon celebrates this festival with lots of happiness and togetherness. Every year it’s a great task to think and create a good display of decoration. This year we made a display of fort. We all are very much unaware of very nice and must visit forts in our Pune district. So, to make people aware of this we have displayed printouts of forts like Vichitraghad, Malharghad, Hadsarghad, Chanavgad, Ghangad and Fort of Chakan. To put forth our vision and to create interest in all we tried to create a replica of a fort for our beloved Ganeshji. We feel proud to tell you that we celebrate this festival eco- friendly. The decoration is totally on theme of ‘BEST OUT OF WASTE’. We have used big cartons and packing boxes to make this fort.”
