Residents and commuters of Khadki-Bopodi and the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway have reason to celebrate as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road toward Khadki has been reopened as a two-way thoroughfare. This development comes as a welcome relief after three years of significant inconvenience caused by Metro construction in the area.

Expressing his gratitude, Siddharth Shirole, Member of Legislative Assembly from Shivajinagar Constituency, Pune, commended his team and the BJP Khadki karyakartas for their diligent efforts in following up with the Traffic Police and Metro Authorities to expedite the work and restore the routes. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing community needs and ensuring smooth traffic flow.

Starting May 1st:

1) Church Chowk to Bopodi Chowk will become a two-way road for all vehicles.

2) Elphinstone Road (from Bopodi Chowk to Holkar Bridge via Khadki Bazaar) will allow two-way vehicular traffic, with heavy vehicles prohibited.

3) General Thorat Road between Church Chowk to Aayudh Chowk will also become a two-way street for all vehicles.

4) Commuters traveling from the underpass from Harris Bridge towards Khadki Police Station will need to travel via CFD Chowk and All Saints School Road.

5) There will be no entry for all vehicles between Ordnance Factory Hospital to CFD Chowk towards Harris Bridge.

Moreover, the completion of Metro construction on this route marks a significant milestone in the ongoing infrastructure development projects in the area. While challenges remain, particularly in Shivajinagar, where major construction projects are still underway, the reopening of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road signifies progress and offers hope for the future.

As the region moves closer to the completion of various infrastructure projects, residents can look forward to improved connectivity and enhanced quality of life.

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road now reopened and Metro construction nearing completion, residents and commuters can anticipate smoother travel experiences and reduced congestion in the Khadki-Bopodi and Old Mumbai-Pune Highway areas.
